Founded in 2011 by Mark Hales, Hales Excavation & Trucking Ltd. began with a single bulldozer, an excavator, one dump truck, and a strong determination to succeed. What started as a part-time construction venture quickly evolved into a full-scale operation when it became clear that service diversity was essential for success in rural Ontario.

The arrival of “Truck 7” marked a pivotal moment in the company’s growth, launching what was originally intended to be a seasonal solution — simply a way to get through the winter. Instead, it developed into a thriving bulk transportation division that now operates 7–10 trucks daily across Ontario and Quebec.

Throughout the years, Mark has remained open to new opportunities and committed to strategic growth and diversification. His vision has always been focused not only on strengthening the business but also on building a legacy for his sons, with the hope that one day they will take over and run the company together. The addition of the Landscape Depot and the Fleet & Auto Division has further expanded services, successfully filling important gaps within the local community.

Today, Hales Excavation & Trucking Ltd. continues to stand by its founding principles: reliability, strong customer relationships, and building solid foundations for the communities it serves.
